James F. Blaha

 

Jim BlahaJim Blaha is Special Counsel with Fisher & Fisher and works in the area of commercial real estate, specializing in lease transactions. Jim graduated from University of Notre Dame in 1980 (cum laude) with an accounting degree. He passed the CPA exam in 1980 and joined KPMG as an auditor and tax consultant. Deciding to expand his knowledge base, he attended law school at the University of Illinois and graduated in 1984. He joined the Baker & McKenzie law firm in Chicago, working in the Corporate, Securities and Real Estate Department until 1991, where he was active in corporate mergers and acquisitions, real estate acquisitions and real estate development. Married with a growing family, Jim eventually decided to pursue a more flexible career, and started his own business as a real estate developer and broker. During this time, Jim and his wife raised five beautiful children and Jim was active in the community, including Little League baseball, soccer and the local Chamber of Commerce. With the children leaving the nest, Jim has returned to law and joined Fisher & Fisher as Special Counsel. Jim remains active in the community as the Little League “rules guy.” He and his wife of 35 years also enjoy the numerous neighborhood festivals in downtown Chicago.
